TRADEMARK USAGE POLICY

This Trademark Usage Policy will show you the proper use of Perspector trademarks and logos.

USE THE CORRECT SYMBOL

When referencing Perspector trademarks and registered trademarks, always include the proper notation after the name and logo. (® for Registered Trademarks and ™; for Trademarks) Failure to do so dilutes our trademark protection. In text it is only necessary to annotate the first instance of the trademark in a given document or piece. After the first instance you may drop the ® or ™; after the word. When using logos, always include the ® or ™; in every instance. Logos may only be used under license from Perspector.

USE FULL, PROPER, TRADEMARKED BRAND NAMES

Always use the full, proper trademarked brand names in all communications. Perspector brands are part of a brand system by which each name begins with the word "Perspector".

DO NOT ALTER Perspector BRANDS OR LOGOS

When using a Perspector brand, never vary the spelling, add or delete hyphens, make one word two, or use a possessive or plural form of the Perspector brand. When using a Perspector logo, never modify the design, add or delete any elements or words, change any colors or proportions.

THE Perspector LOGO

The Perspector logo must be used as a stand-alone icon to connote origination of Perspector, without other logos and trademarks associated with it.

Only Visual Exemplars Ltd products and services may be used in conjunction with the Perspector logo.

Perspector BRANDS & THIRD PARTY TRADEMARKS

Do not combine the Perspector brands with third party trademarks. Third party names and logos cannot be used in conjunction with Perspector brands and logos in product names except to connote that Perspector technology is included. Perspector brands and logos may not be used as part of the product name for any third party product.

LOGO SIZING

When materials are co-branded, the prominence of the Perspector logo should be at least proportionate to its contribution to the partnership. Therefore, Perspector?s logo should be of equal size and prominence with an equal partner. If Perspector is the dominant partner, the Perspector logo should be larger than partner logos. If Perspector is one of several lesser partners in an initiative headed by a dominant partner, Perspector?s logo should be at least of equal prominence and size with the lesser partners, but smaller than the dominant partner. In partner promotions, the Perspector logos cannot be altered in any way.

COPYRIGHT STATEMENTS

Each name, term or mark that is a registered trademark must include the applicable mark and copyright statement when it is used.

Example:
"_____ is a trademark or a registered trademark of Visual Exemplars Ltd"

There is no "boilerplate" footnote. The blank space should be a list of all and Perspector logos that appear in that particular piece. If all Perspector logos are registered trademarks, then the footnote should indicate as such. Footnotes should always be complete sentences, and ordinarily appear on the copyright page, on the last page of the material, or on packaging.

Example:
© 2004 Visual Exemplars Ltd. All rights reserved. Perspector and the Perspector logo are trademarks or registered trademarks of Visual Exemplars Ltd.

PRODUCT PACKAGING

Special attention should be devoted to the correct use of Perspector brands and logos on product packaging. Any Perspector brand that is displayed on packaging should be attributed with the appropriate trademark symbol (refer to the Perspector Trademarks Chart) the first time it appears on each side of the package. Any Perspector logo that is displayed on packaging should be attributed with the appropriate trademark symbol each time it appears on the package. A copyright statement, which is most commonly combined with copyright and patent information, should reference each Perspector brand and logo that appears on the packaging. Ordinarily, this footnote appears on the back of the packaging.

POWER POINT & OTHER PRESENTATIONS

Perspector Brands and logos, should always be attributed with the proper symbol and footnoted on all presentations that are displayed to the public (sales, trade shows etc). If a presentation is used internally, Perspector brands and logos should be attributed but need not be footnoted.
